Family Boating (ahem - TJ's boat :)

This is TJ's boat.  He has ALWAYS wanted a boat so this is his first.  We're buying it from his step-dad, Mike whose had it on the gulf for 20 years so it will now be experiencing it's fresh water days.  We've had some kinks that needed to be worked out.  Such as, it hadn't been in the water for a while so a little motor rejuvenation was needed.  Then, the first time we pulled it into the water at Lake Hawkins, one board fell completely off in the water and two others were hanging.  The front was a little "soft" to be walking on so TJ spent a night at the warehouse at work fixing her up:

Ripped carpet off to see before:

After with new boards

TJ sending me a picture showing he was wearing his safety glasses to protect his investment (as well as the gift of his eyes God gave him).  I'm always on him about safety first.  I think I got that from my dad :)

Then he put the fiberglass coating on to make it all shiny new looking.

We may replace the carpeting someday or maybe not.  You have to know what B.O.A.T. stands for before you buy one - Bust Out Another Thousand.  Many other things can wait.  Or at least that's my opinion and our bank books.

I think she's going to be called the "Blue Bullet."  After some work on the boat and the trailer we took her on her maiden voyage at Lake O' the Pines.  It was a beautiful day and relaxing, peaceful, and quiet.  TJ's thrilled and really looking forward to taking to Lake Powell this summer too.  Of course, they tried some fishing while I tried not to go crazy itching from my recent exposure to Poison ivy or oak or sumac in our yard.  Whichever it is, it itches horrendously!!!  I recommend staying away, but I do have to get rid of it in our yard so I'm keeping my fingers crossed not to get in it again (and wearing gloves, long sleeves, pants, closed shoes, etc.).

Thanks for all your hard work, babe!  I know we'll enjoy many more great family times together at the lake.
